I have been searching for awhile now for a truly organic, cruelty-free, gentle, and effective facial cleanser. Prior to purchasing Restore (which I found by consulting the environmental working group reviews of cosmetic ingredients), I had tried more mainstream “alternative” products, such as “Origins,” “Dr. Hauschka,” etc., as well as other brands available at Whole Foods. I discovered–again, through the env. working group–that many of these products contain unsafe ingredients, regardless of marketing statements to the contrary.
I despaired of finding both organic, cruelty-free, and effective product. I can now say that I have found it! I absolutely LOVE this facial cleanser (I also bought the Restore facial moisturizer, equally wonderful). My skin has never felt so soft and clean. Restore fully cleanses without drying out the skin, and the fragrance is not at all overpowering–just very lightly scented (and I am sensitive to strong scents).
I don’t wear make-up, so I can’t comment on its ability to remove make-up products, but for me, this product line is fantastically wonderful. 🙂
