As the holiday season draws nearer, the desire to be with loved ones grows deeper. Some people will sadly miss a family member, left only with their memories as a celebration of that person. October marks the time of year that many individuals use to reflect on either loved ones who struggled with breast cancer, or remember their own struggle with this life-threatening condition. Some people participate in festivities designed and marketed to ‘raise awareness’ of the reality of breast cancer, fueled by fund raisers that target the hope of ‘finding a cure.’
