Most everyone in the natural market today is aware of the potentially toxic effect of aluminum compounds (and its many derivatives) in over the counter antiperspirants and deodorants. Most of America, however, has an obsession with perceived cleanliness and smelling "fresh". So what's an all-natural girl or guy to do?
The solution is in our organic deodorants. These are chemical-free, paraben free, and aluminum free deodorants. Our organic deodorants won't clog your pores. These are not antiperspirants. A healthy body is designed to sweat to remove toxins in your bloodstream and regulate your core body temperature. That doesn't mean it has to be stinky! Organic virgin coconut oil has natural stink-fighting anti-bacterial compounds as well as being soothing and conditioning for the skin. (Red, irritated, and itchy underarms from store-bought deodorants anyone?)
Organic arrowroot powder absorbs wetness naturally. Organic lavender and organic lemon essential oils help to neutralize odor producing bacteria. All-natural deodorants help prevent smelly bacteria from forming. We recommend only applying deodorant to clean underarms each time.
Please don't leave your deodorant in your gym bag in a hot car. It WILL melt. Organic virgin coconut oil is solid up to about 76 degrees F. It melts gently with your body heat allowing you to apply a thin, even layer each time. The effectiveness of a particular deodorant may depend on how your body chemistry reacts with the various essential oils. Not sure what you need? Call or email us anytime and we' ll help you select something just right for you. We'll also be happy to custom-blend a deodorant scent for you. Just drop us a line!
Directions for use: Only roll deodorant up about 1/8 inch. Gently apply a thin layer or two to clean underarms. Rub in the deodorant with your fingers if you prefer. It will leave a light layer of powder on your skin to help absorb excess wetness.
Product Ingredients: (Vegan) Organic virgin coconut oil, organic arrowroot powder, aluminum-free baking soda, organic lavender essential oil, organic lemon essential oil. (2.5 oz.)
Christy's Notes: I do want to educate you somewhat on the effect your diet and lifestyle has on your "smelliness". A diet that includes lots of meat and dairy products usually produces more noxious smelling body odor due to the way these foods are broken down by your body. The more animal products you consume, the more toxic the smells that come from your underarms (and other regions as well!). Most people believe that odor comes from bacteria present in your underarms. This isn't the whole truth. Those bacteria may be present, but the odor comes from what you are feeding them.
The bare bones truth is that body odor is primarily the toxic gases or byproducts from the fermentation or putrefaction processes going on inside you body due to the ingestion of animal products and processed, refined foods. In essence, if your body is sweating out non-toxic waste products, it is only giving off excess minerals and byproducts from normal, healthy metabolism. Therefore, the bacteria living on your underarm skin just won't be as offensive as the ones that would thrive if your skin was producing byproducts of animal food digestion. The bottom line: Eat a diet full of antioxidant-rich fresh, preferably organic, fruits, vegetables and whole-grains to keep your body clean from the inside out.
